FAREWELL DR. RIVERA AND CLASSMATES

A powerful way to end a course is to provide my professor an opportunity to have my reflection on the knowledge I have gained, the skills I’ve developed, and the learning process I’ve experienced from the course.

At the beginning of the course, I wasn’t really new to blogging. My skills were not bad at all, but I felt like they needed some fine-tuning. I was always good at getting information and laying down a foundation. Alongside that, I’ve always found the technology easy once I have the grasp. I was glad that I joined a class that needed more detail about blogging. This class has helped me fix that issue. While I was trying to be more proficient I was also strengthening my skills in other areas. Throughout the course, I have completed assignments on time that helped me collaborated better with my classmates about the nature of lessons we were having. By taking this class, it increased my knowledge about the diversity of many cultures in Guam; places that I have never been since I came to Guam; a church that I never knew existed; and many historical places that I was never aware of. Now I do! Thanks to my colleagues/CHamoru classmates that shared their many cultures & values today during our class presentations.  One very passionate group! The class spent time with Q & A and Dr. Rivera was always prompt, to give out the answers. This helped and allowed a better understanding for the rest of the class including myself.

Just a small part of our final project that came to my mind that helped me achieve this outcome was my group. A few of us have little knowledge about the blog, a couple of us are proficient but there were other things that they were good, it worked out well for the entire group. As a result of that, our final blog project came out excellent! The best part is... I made new friends out of the class.

During the course, the class was asked to reply to the blogs daily and do posting about our daily class.  I kept- up with that and was having a good time responding and blogging away. I have met all Dr. Rivera’s requirements for the course.

LET'S BLOG BLOG BLOG

The course ultimately helped me achieve more by working with different ethnicities through this blog project; engaging in the collaborative and social aspects during our online class. Such learning gave me productive feedback to work progressively with my group and the other group. Dr. Rivera has helped every one of us mostly by allowing us to take a step back and go over everything. She made us see what we did well, and what we need to avoid in the future. This way, in future endeavors, the same mistakes will hopefully not be made. By doing so, no one leaves the class without knowing what we have learned during the class.

Dr. Rivera is always reminding all of us about the importance of citing sources so that you do not have any issue with someone’s work and jeopardize yourself for any lawsuit. She was right, with the requirements of the course, I need lots of images and therefore, I am sure to use a lot of sources that needs copyright. Good, advise as always! Happy Blogging everyone!

In conclusion, my heartfelt appreciation to you, Dr. Matilda N. Rivera, for teaching me more and sharing your great knowledge of technology, and also to all my classmates especially with my group. Hats Off To You and To all My Classmates!

GOD BLESS EVERYONE!

    1. You always empower your student as well and most of all you are genuine to what you do. You inspire us to do more than we are capable because you believe in us.

Again, thanks for always sharing your knowledge to me and everyone in the class.

    1. I believe that technology was set aside from your TO DO LIST because you have the whole school to take care of. Hundreds of students are counting on you along with your faculty and staff. But now that you have got yourself started on the GIF...you are on your way to the 21st Century! Go girl! I'm here if you need me...just T-E-X-T

  3. This is great! Everything you said was true! We always have to be careful and mindful when we are dealing with the "world wide web." The world is watching us every time we are connected to it.

  4. A comprehensive reflection .. TODU MAGAHET (all true) of what was expected of us to do daily, assignments, interactions, sharing what's learned, watching and following directions/instructions on command. Our professor's passion for passing/teaching us and her compassion and patience to make sure we "got it!" is not common, but when we're afforded the pleasure for the same purpose .. this I'm grateful for.
