I enjoyed today's discussion about the multicultural classroom as well as integrating. technology. I think both are very important in this day and age. My ESL classroom, I’d like to
think, is a safe space for my English learners. I try to incorporate (as best as I can) the use of or reference to their native language and cultural aspects in my lessons in hopes that my students do not feel shy or embarrassed to share their stories with me.

As for technology in my classroom, I use it every day. I empower them to use laptops independently through writing and/or research amongst many other things.

I totally agree with you Grace. I know from first hand and seen you incorporate technology with your students. You do an awesome job!
ReplyDeleteI also use epic books . I totally agree having students access technology is empowering them to learn in this very digital world !
ReplyDeleteGerri Quitano's August 16, 2025 Reflection:
ReplyDeleteOn Saturday, I reviewed some collection of stories and poems provided for young readers. There were Chuukese folklore, bedtime stories, as well as legends. Also, I really enjoyed listening to the different ideas that our team discussed for our final project.
Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful reflection and for giving us a glimpse into your ESL classroom. It is inspiring to see how intentionally you create a safe and welcoming space where students feel comfortable sharing their stories and cultural identities—this is such a powerful way to build confidence and community. I also appreciate the way you integrate technology meaningfully, not just as a tool but as a way to empower students to become independent learners. Your pictures beautifully capture both the diversity of your classroom and the active role technology plays in their learning journey. You are doing incredible work in shaping a supportive, engaging, and multicultural environment for your students.
