The read aloud at the library was so much fun! One of my favorite things to do is read aloud to kids and get them as engaged as possible. It was awesome that there were children physically present, because sometimes it is more challenging to interact in a read aloud in a virtual setting.
Estella's read aloud was also fantastic and relevant to the kids. The children were engaged and actively listening. It was great that it was a topic that all children can relate to!

Both presentations highlighted the power of interactive storytelling, and I agree that having children present in person created meaningful opportunities for connection, engagement, and literacy development.
ReplyDeleteThis was the first time I got to hear you reading to the kids, and as soon as you started, I thought, "She's definitely a Reading teacher!" There’s just something special about the way Reading teachers read aloud. I can read with expression, but Reading teachers seem to have a passion and love for books that shines through the moment they begin reading. You can really hear it in their voice and see it in the way they engage the kids. You did a great job, Ciann!
